Join us this Thursday, July 10, as HŌ‘EA: Maoli Film Showcase returns to Oʻahu to celebrate Lā Hoʻihoʻi Ea with a powerful evening of mele, film, and community at the Nation of Hawai‘i in Waimānalo.

6:30 PM: Film panel with Ciara Lacy, Leimaile Barrett, ʻĀina Paikai, Bumpy Kanahele, and Liko Martin, moderated by Nicole Naone.

Join us, the Judiciary History Center and Lā Hoʻi Hoʻi Ea for All Hawaiʻi Stand Togetherl, a short-film screening and panel honoring the legacy of music, law, and aloha ʻāina. This evening features 2025 Lā Hoʻihoʻi Ea honoree Liko Martin, joined by international law expert Leon Siu.
🎶 The event title echoes the iconic song “All Hawaiʻi Stand Together,” written by Liko Martin and first performed at the 1977 Sovereign Sunday rally at ʻIolani Palace.

Join us for Nā Hua Ea: Mālama ʻĀina + Poetry on Saturday, July 12, at Ulupō Nui. Start your day tending to ʻāina, and stay for an afternoon of poetic reflection rooted in place. Come for one or both sessions! Let the day move from hana to hana noʻeau.

Save the date! Join Puʻuhonua Society at the annual Lā Hoʻihoʻi Ea celebrations on Sunday, July 27th, 2025 at Thomas Square Park for Hōʻeu Mana.
Artists and cultural practitioners will gather at the site of Hawaiʻi’s sovereignty restoration to share their embodied understanding of EA through live, interactive demonstrations, hands-on workshops, cultural practices, music, poetry, and more.

July 6th | Mālama ʻĀina at Kaniakapupu

Meet at Board of Water Supply pumping station field
Who:
Open to keiki 13+ and adults of all ages
Together we’ll provide stewardship through weeding, clearing invasive vegetation, and general upkeep of this wahi pana (storied place). More importantly, this is a valuable opportunity to dive deeper into mo’olelo Hawaiʻi and build pilina with ’āina, kaiaulu, and our ocean of ’ike kūpuna.
What to bring:
• Outdoor work clothes (trail can be muddy!)
• Water & bug repellent
• Your own gardening tools/gloves (tools provided)
• Carpool if possible – limited parking
This restricted watershed access is a rare privilege to connect with the multi-layered history woven into our aloha ʻāina legacy

July 4th | Annual Theft of a Nation
🗓️ July 4, 10 am-3 pm (gates open at 9 am)
📍 Iolani Palace + Kanaina Building
Reclaim space and celebrate the EA of Hawaii at Iolani Palace this Friday ✊🏽
Bring chairs, mats, water, snacks and the whole ohana! Opening ceremony starts at 10 am followed by the Theft of A Nation hoike with speakers and musicians the rest of the day.
Then, join us in the Kanaina Building at 2 pm for a special presentation by Keeaumoku Kaiama.
